Founded in 2014 by Henning Ferber to develop projects on an international scale, we produce selected and carefully developed films for both the international and the German speaking market. In close relations with creative talent, a broad network of filmmakers and established partnerships in production and distribution we create films for a demanding audience.
As producer and co-founder of Film1 GmbH & Co KG, Henning Ferber already realized a variety of projects. In 2005 Henning produced his first theatrical movie KEINE LIEDER ÜBER LIEBE, which premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale and was successfully released to German cinemas in self-distribution.
Henning went on to produce MITTE ENDE AUGUST directed by Sebastian Schipper, which opened the Forum section of the Berlinale in 2007.
From there, Henning proceeded to produce PHANTOMSCHMERZ with Til Schweiger in the leading part. The film premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and was released by Warner Bros. In the same year Henning realized LILA, LILA an adaptation of Martin Suter`s novel starring Daniel Brühl. LILA, LILA opened the Zurich Film Festival.
In 2011 Henning produced RUBBELDIEKATZ starring Matthias Schweighöfer and Alexandra Maria Lara. RUBBELDIEKATZ, released by Universal, was a box office hit with more than 2 Mio admissions in Germany and was one of the most successful German movies in recent years. Also in 2011, Henning was co-producer of the European co-production STREETDANCE 2 3D and he produced HEITER BIS WOLKIG starring Elyas M’Barek, a co-production with Constantin Film and SevenPictures/SAT1.
In 2014 Henning produced ALLES IST LIEBE directed by Markus Goller in co-production with and released by Universal Pictures International. In 2015 Henning co-produced DIE DUNKLE SEITE DES MONDES, a further adaptation of a Martin Suter novel, starring Moritz Bleibtreu and Jürgen Prochnow in the lead and directed by Stephan Rick.
Henning co-produced LUCKY LOSER in 2017, directed by Nico Sommer, starring Annette Frier und Peter Trabner.
The thriller KIDNAPPING STELLA produced by Henning and directed by Thomas Sieben is the first German Netflix Original Film and is available on Netflix worldwide starring Max von der Groeben, Jella Haase and Clemens Schick. KIDNAPPING STELLA ranked second in Netflix’s Most Popular International Releases in 2019.
In 2019 Henning produced LASSIE COME HOME based on the classic novel by Eric Knight. Hanno Olderdissen directed a German all star cast around Sebastian Bezzel and Matthias Habich. Warner Bros. Germany released LASSIE in February 2020 in cinemas across Germany, Global Screen handles international sales.
Several other projects are currently in development and pre-production.
